Tis the Season of... Ow.

Ok, I know- 2nd month in a row and this is so late. This time though, it's because I've been slammed trying to finish some new stuff... primarily- the addition of a whole new batch of designs to our Still series! In addition to 2 new Still Disabled designs, we've also added 4 "Still Sick" designs too! We now have designs for folks who use Braces, Splints, Canes, Crutches, Walkers, Rollators, Wheel/Power Chairs AND folks who use IVs, Masks, Oxygen and... Meds. If there's some other kind of equipment or device that you use and you want a STILL design to include it- just let us know. The Still Sick side of things came about because someone requested that we include Masks!

Alternately, we still have a lot of holiday designs in the shop (including a Spoonie-themed Hanukkah design:

4 long sleeve shirts. A maroon Hoodie, a 3/4 sleeve with green sleeves and white chest, a 3/4 sleeve with dark blue sleeves and denim blue chest, and a red long-sleeve crew neck tee. All 4 shirts have an illustration of a Menorah on them. The blue and silver Menorah has a Star of David below the candle line, and instead of candles, there are 4 silver spoons flanking the larger center spoon.

and of course everyone's favorite bah-humbug featuring one of SarahCate's nurse-kitties: Matt the Catt Smith.

A maroon long sleeve tee, a green/white 3/4 sleeve shirt, and a gray hoodie. They all have an illustration of a black and white cat wearing a fluffy red and green collar. The cat looks annoyed. The text on the shirts reads, "FA LA LA LA Nope."

Other site news is that we're prepping to add 2 new categories to the shop section! One for Arthritis Assists and one for Toys. Right now items related to both are sort of... stashed in the "Miscellaneous" section, but we believe we can find enough relevant sites for each category to give them their own pages. It will be a bit before they launch (SarahCate's weather flaring is in high gear) but once they do we'll update our Social Media so you know it's all ready! And as always, when we add a new batch of resources- feel free to message or email us with suggestions of shops/links we should include in the new (or any) sections!

We know the holidays can be rough- even if you're a holiday-fanatic. As folks with chronic conditions and disabilities, mental health issues, injuries etc- even the best and happiest family gatherings can be completely draining. And for a lot of folks- family isn't necessarily the balm that many people enjoy.

So from both of us to all of you- we love you. We wish you calm and happy holidays, peaceful nights and fewer flare-ups. We hope your wish lists are gifted in full, and that this season, all the fancy gear and equipment you've been wanting is delivered just when you need it.

Happy Holidays. And remember, even in the moments when it seems impossible- this too will pass. You have survived 100% of your worst days so far. So while we hope this season is kind and warm and wonderful- if it isn't- we're here and we can all make it through together.

CAMPAIGN(S) OF THE MONTH:

Normally, each month, we feature 1-3 fundraising campaigns. We like to share these links so that visitors who have the means know where need may be and can help folks in our community who are trying to get access to care or equipment they otherwise can't afford. Because there are so many folks needing help right now, we're going to start sharing a few campaigns a month- in hopes that we can help spread the love as widely as possible. If you are able, please consider donating to one of these fundraising campaign to help those who need it.

Service Dog for Independence

An illustration on a pink background. A large dog and a white cat with various toys around them. there are 4 illustrated people in the image as well, carrying toys, riding the dog and tying a ribbon on the cat's tail.

I am raising money to start my journey with a service dog. A service dog would be helpful to me to help mitigate anxiety and help me with balance issues arising from arthritis. Your money is going towards the initial adoption fees and equipment, vet visit, and vest and other forms of identification.

Jovi's MRI

A close up photo of a white person's face. they have medium length dyed hair covered by a dark red knit cap. In addition to 2 piercings at the bottom right of their lip, they have dark oval glasses and are looking at the camera.

Currently I have been walking on a possible torn meniscus and ligament in my knee for at least 2 months. I've been unable to afford an MRI to figure out exactly whats going on, much less treat it properly. I also have been dealing with chronic pain and illness that has been getting worse and more prominent for the last 7 years. I have a referral for a rheumatologist after tons of other testing without answers. I desperately need a diagnosis because the things that could be causing this could be rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune, MS, EDS, fibromyalgia... Basically anything it could be should be figured out and a treatment plan laid out sooner rather than later.

Dealing with all of this has had a great toll on my debt, both medical and credit. Right now I just really need this MRI. Overall I am desperate to figure out what is happening to my body because living at a 5-10 on the pain scale daily is hard to deal with, especially considering I'm already prescribed multiple medications that are no longer enough help. So please. Anything you can spare. I've even told friends and family that if they were considering giving me Christmas or even wedding (we got engaged in early October, no date set) gifts that I just need help for my health.
